IFC Midnight has unveiled the official trailer for the new survivor thriller RADIOFLASH, which is set to premiere on November 15th, 2019. Directed by Ben McPherson, the film stars Brighton Sharbino, Dominic Monaghan, Will Patton, and Fionnula Flanagan.

An electric-magnetic pulse has just struck America, knocking out all power and propelling it back into the Dark Ages. As society descends into violent anarchy, Reese (Sharbino), a tech-skilled teenager and her father Chris (Monaghan) flee the dangers of the city, seeking refuge with her doomsday-prepper grandfather (Patton) deep in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest. But they soon discover that their journey and the splendor of these mountains hide a darkness of their own.

RADIOFLASH Official Trailer (2019) Thriller Movie

While it appears to play off real-life horror (which, let’s face it, is the scariest of all), I can’t help but also feel it pandering to the doomsday “preppers,” if you will. It also speaks volumes when a trailer gives nearly the whole film away and I still don’t have a strong opinion about it. Nonetheless, it’s still a solid premise and maybe even an opportunity for social relevance.

Radioflash opens November 15th in select theaters and on VOD.

About the Author

From humble beginnings as a bisexual art kid who drank more coffee than a 40-year-old author, Remy now holds a BFA in Film Production from Chapman University and is a proud member of the HorrorBuzz team (and still a bisexual art kid who drinks too much coffee). They were first introduced to the world of horror and camp when their grandma showed them The Rocky Horror Picture Show at age 5, and never looked back. When they're not writing cartoons or working on movies, one can spot them in various clubs around Los Angeles performing very, very self-deprecating standup comedy. Howdy ho!
