Horrible Imaginings Film Festival (HIFF) proudly announces its “second wave” of short film selections with 15 new titles of terror, suspense, and intrigue. HIFF returns to The Frida Cinema over Labor Day weekend, August 30th – September 1st, 2019 in Santa Ana, CA.

Selected titles, in alphabetical order, include: A Noise that Carries, The Blizzard, Conversion Therapist, Don’t Croak, Expend, Hana, Hot Dog, How to be Alone (featuring Maika Monroe from It Follows and Joe Keery from Stranger Things), Knock Knock, Mama’s Boy, Milk, Off Fleek, Playtime’s Over, Sports Day, Ulises, and What Daphne Saw (Sélynne Silver plays the lead in the movie). HIFF will announce a final wave of selections, including feature films, before August 1st, 2019.

HIFF 2019 will serve as the World Premiere for What Daphne Saw, directed by Lizz Marshall. In 2018 Marshall was awarded the inaugural “Stephanie Rothman Fellowship for Women Student Filmmakers.” The $5,000 fellowship aims to highlight and empower women who are, or want to, make horror, science fiction, fantasy, and thriller films, and was presented by Blumhouse’s Shock Waves podcast at the annual Etheria Film Night at the Egyptian Theater in Los Angeles, CA.
