Yes the second season of the Gemr series Collection Complete is here to close out another set of extensive collections and nerdy geekdom. In this episode filmmaker and prop collector Sean Clark (Horror’s Hallowed Grounds) shares his bonkers collection of discusses Rudy and Bibbo prosthetics from 1988’s cult film Killer Klowns from Outer Space, that were actually used on screen! What’s more, there is a cute little story regarding his history with said pair of clown hands. A very cool collector’s story.
If you aren’t familiar with Killer Clowns From Outer Space, then you are missing out on a very important piece of 80’s cult cinema. From the twisted minds of the Chiodo brothers, Killer Clowns is the simple story of Aliens who look like clowns that terrorize a small town. Nuts, absurd, bloody, and filled with tongue in cheek humor, the movie is a practical creature effects showcase. While these pieces of foam and latex were made years ago, shares his prized pieces and drops the name of the one guy collectors need to go to for preserving these pieces.
The docu-series Collection Complete takes an in-depth look into the lives of artists and the collections that fuel their work. Presented by Gemr, an app created for collectors worldwide, Collection Complete allows the more expansive collectors to show off their treasures and allows fans to build community in their mutual search for prized possessions. In this particular episode, Clark shares how strategizing with other collector’s helps the community overall.
The show’s nineteenth episode (past installments of Collection Complete have ventured into the personal collections of filmmakers Mike Mendez of Tales of Halloween fame and designer, artist and pinup Micheline Pitt, among others), future episodes are set to dig into the whereabouts of actor James Remar’s vest from the 1979 cult flick The Warriors, the world of stage-used KISS guitar and memorabilia collecting, one of the largest Barbie collections in the western hemisphere, screen-used props from some of the most famous horror and sci-fi films ever made, and a whole lot more.
