Micheline Pitt is a fierce, talented Los Angeles-based artist, designer, and filmmaker who as it happens, is obsessed with everything Creature from the Black Lagoon. Today, the docu-series Collection Complete, focuses on Pitt’s deep collection of rare Creature from the Black Lagoon items. The series, produced by collector app Gemr features an in-depth look into the lives of artists and the collections that fuel their work.

Did you know, the creature was designed by Walt Disney’s first female animator, Milicent Patrick? Yeah. This and other factoids bubble to the surface as we dive into Pitt’s life-long fascination with the film. Pitt discusses the groundbreaking 1954 flick, the titular creature’s designer Milicent Patrick (and her forgotten place in cinematic history and author Mallory O’Meara’s best-selling book on the same-titled “The Lady from the Black Lagoon”) and Micheline’s own ultra-rare collection of Black Lagoon items (including a head pull from the original Gill-man casting – 1 of 3 in existence – to the arrival of her 1:1 scale Mark Alfrey-sculpted Creature from the Black Lagoon).

Apparently, though we only skim the surface in this episode. Future installments are set to showcase other items in Pitt’s collection, including an exclusive first look at her upcoming directorial debut Grummy, as well as more with screen-used prop collector Sean Clark), past episodes of Collection Complete have ventured into the personal collections of filmmakers Mike Mendez of Tales of Halloween fame and The Hills Run Red producer Robert Meyer Burnett.
