In my life outside of HorrorBuzz, I’ve been writing and producing an audio fiction podcast called RETURN HOME for the last three years. When I was casting the show way back when, I had a character who I just could not find the right person for…that is until I went to Knott’s Scary Farm. I was struck by Barry, a character in the Paranormal Inc. maze, and how their personality matched perfectly for what I was looking for. I learned that the person playing Barry was Forrest Orta. I reached out to him and immediately cast him in the role.
Flash forward to now, and Forrest has been a good friend and an essential member of the Return Home team since almost day one. He’s been hearing me talk about my HorrorBuzz experiences forever, especially immersive ones, and he has always been intrigued. He’s also talked about starting his own company one day to do the same.
And that day is now! I am very proud of him setting out on his newest venture, Cardiac Productions, and the debut of his first immersive experience, MIDNIGHT.
MIDNIGHT will put guests in the role of babysitters that are watching over the Steinen children. The Son, the youngest of the children, decides he wants to play The Midnight Game. The rules are simple: Move around the house, don’t stop moving, and keep your candle lit. And if you lose, you will meet The Midnight Man, who is said to be ready to collect your organs…one by one. Will you survive?
“Horror can always be found in the most unassuming places,” said Forrest. “My inspiration for Midnight came from watching Shane Dawson play this game with his friends. I loved the idea of the game and felt it would make such great foundation for something sinister to happen. I’m so excited to see where this goes and how everyone takes to it.”

The show will take place March 23rd & 24th, 2019 and is expected to last one hour. Each showing will hold 6 guests, and tickets are $45 per person. Tickets go on sale on February 25th.
