It’s the end of the world as we know it. Or at least as the people in the film PRODIGY know it. A worldwide blackout followed by talk of an apocalypse and one boy who has predicted it all. In a frantic attempt for answers, the world tries to find answers when the answers may be closer than meets the eye.

Synopsis: Erik Black is a broken soul due to the loss of his wife. He spends his days alone and self-medicating. All of that changes when his estranged son asks him to help him reach an undisclosed destination. There, he says, he will receive a divine message he believes will change the course of humanity. To survive they must stick together while fostering a belief in something greater than themselves.

Prodigy - Trailer

I had to watch the trailer a couple times to capture the story the trailer is trying to sell. Once I caught on and the basic idea stuck, it was intriguing enough to interest me. Many of the shots in the trailer were visually stunning and if that’s a snapshot of the cinematography for the entire film then an optical treat awaits with PRODIGY. With the crazy time we live in, and with everyone’s fear of the world’s end, “end of the world films” are en vogue, so this film could prove to be very satisfying for an apocalypse hungry audience.
