Nestled between Hollywood staple-bar Boardners and a souvenir shop is a quaint-looking hallway that eventually leads to the courtyard and entrance to Hollywood’s premiere goth club Bar Sinister. Tonight, it was where the red carpet for the 2017 Shriekfest opening night party was rolled out to the numerous directors, writers, actors, and special guests in attendance.

The party was a great way to kick off the weekend’s festivities, which included specialty cocktails, tunes by DJ Pervula and dancing, finger food, and plenty of networking opportunities for everyone looking for jobs and connections in the world of horror and sci-fi filmmaking.

Shriekfest is Los Angeles’s longest-running horror and sci-fi film festival. Actress and Shriekfest founder/director Denise Gossett says: “I am absolutely thrilled with the selection this year, we are close to selling out some shows already! It’s going to be a great time.”

About the Author

From humble beginnings as a bisexual art kid who drank more coffee than a 40-year-old author, Remy now holds a BFA in Film Production from Chapman University and is a proud member of the HorrorBuzz team (and still a bisexual art kid who drinks too much coffee). They were first introduced to the world of horror and camp when their grandma showed them The Rocky Horror Picture Show at age 5, and never looked back. When they're not writing cartoons or working on movies, one can spot them in various clubs around Los Angeles performing very, very self-deprecating standup comedy. Howdy ho!
