Over the last decade we have seen the landscape of Haunts change. Bigger budgets and sets coupled with Hollywood level special effects and costumes, draw crowds from all over the world by hordes, salivating for a taste of some scary fun. We’ve also witnessed (to our fiendish delight) the surge of more psychologically terrorizing type haunts, or “extreme haunts”, pop up in the marketplace and assert their dominance in the search for scream supremacy. One haunt in particular has outlasted them all. With stellar in house production, dedicated scare actors, and a list of well known haunt designers, it’s no surprise this haunt event is respected throughout the horror community. Who am I talking about? Well, let’s see if this rings a bell…

Over 40 years of screams; 160 acres of horror filled mazes, scare zones packed full of roaming monsters, a pale and busty queen of scream, funnel cakes, and rollercoasters! Do I have your attention yet? I should, because I’m talking about the longest running Halloween event held at a theme park, Knott’s Scary Farm! Come this late September, 2016, will mark the 44th year for the month long event, and you can bet your ass we will be there! If any of you readers were lucky enough to join HorrorBuzz for our VIP Scary Farm event, you were treated like Halloween royalty. Let’s just say, Knott’s and HorrorBuzz know how to party. So hold onto your diapers (some scares have been known to cause accidents), and let’s take a look at some of your pics from this, not to be missed event!

Knott’s Scary Farm 2015 Review: Maze: Trick Or Treat Top Maze: #9 This year’s Trick Or Treat maze is at it’s best year yet! As we enter the tree is back with heads on it which makes it more presentable, but there was a problem they moved the lines up they made it longer than before which made for a longer line. The costume design is good nothing special but good. The scare rating is poor but better than 2013 and 2014 unfortunately. The maze design is still at it’s best and looks and feels like a 1980’s witch house! The new rooms the potion room is really interesting and a lot of fun however they could have put actors in there. On the other hand the bewitched attic feels right and the ending just works rightly! Overall Trick Or Treat is at it’s best year yet and is still the fun, flawful, and atmospheric house we all know and come to love! Costume Design: 3/5 Scare Rating: 2/5 Maze Design: 4.6/5 Overall: 7/10 #scaryfarm #knottscaryfarm

Did I mention pale, and busty? That’s right! The queen of darkness herself, Elvira is in the house.

The Horde. We at HorrorBuzz recommend you pick up the famed “skeleton key/fright lane” pass with your Scary Farm tickets. Not only will you get to skip to the front of the line, but in certain mazes you will get access to a secret room, foreshadowing the story you’re about to experience. Trust us, it gets busy!

Brutal beauty everywhere you look. Sometimes we have to take a step back while at the haunt, just to marvel at the level of detail in everything Knott’s Scary Farm does year after spooky year.

Well, HorrorGram fam. This look back at Knott’s Scary Farm has the hair on the back of my neck standing on edge. Being one of my most anticipated events of the Halloween season, you can imagine the anticipation is killing me. Seriously, you could cut glass with these nipples. Don’t forget to keep an eye out on our VIP Haunt events, and you could join us in the fog! Scream ya later!
