Today we begin a new column on HorrorBuzz, “HorrorGram Thursdays”. A look back at notable topics and pics from the horror community. In this first installment we share memories from our inaugural Halloween season.
What a season 2015 was. Big surprises and even bigger scares were the most notable attributes for ’15 as Knott’s Scary Farm, Universal Halloween Horror Nights, and Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor brought their A-Games to the table. Sadly there was the absence of other brilliant haunts like Delusion Haunted Play, Sinister Pointe, Blackout Haunted House, and Coffin Creek, all of which decided to take the year off for various reasons. The upside to that was a host of new up and coming haunts making their debuts and filling the void like Creep LA, Fear is What We Learned Here, and The Huntington Haunt.
Collectively the HorrorBuzz team experienced over 60 haunts in the southern California area, not including trips to San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Below are some of the major highlights from our Instagram feed. Let’s reminisce, shall we?
It all began with the kick off to the season, ScareLA!
The HorrorBuzz team was there, ready to take in all of the scary, spooky goodness!
Our very own Abel Horowitz held the first ever Serial Killer Speed Dating.
By Sept 11th Disneyland’s Halloween Time opened.
Followed a week later by Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights.
Then we saw Knott’s Scary Farm open the next week with one of their best years EVER!
Finally the last piece to the Haunt Trifecta opened in southern California, Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor.
Knott’s then opened the all-new Knott’s Spooky Farm.
After that there were a TON of wonderful Halloween happenings. Here are some highlights.
And with that, Halloween ended.
