The final terror inducing details of this year’s Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights are now known! We are very happy to report that it now includes the return of the highly fan rated An American Werewolf in London maze.

Building upon the John Landis’ classic movie, as well as Universal Creative’s highly immersive previous 2013 incarnation, the team has teased that this years house will include wolves that are “more ferocious and hungry for human flesh…and their pack has expanded.”  If you haven’t experienced the live version of the movie’s famous transformation scene, you are really in for a treat.

This final announcement joins a slate of exciting details released for this special anniversary event , that include all-new, original houses based on iconic stories from the event’s 25 year history and featuring scenes from RUN:Blood, Sweat, and Fears, Asylum in Wonderland 3D, Body Collectors: Recollections, and Jack Presents: 25 Years of Monsters and Mayhem.

THE WALKING DEAD: THE LIVING AND THE DEAD

From the burnt ashes of Terminus, through the flooded community food pantry basement, and into the darkened churchyard, hordes of walkers surround you as you relive gut-wrenching moments of the most recent season.

FREDDY VS. JASON™

Playing on the success of last years house, Alien Vs Predator, the Halloween Horror Nights team brings to life another epic battle.  Jason Vorhees and Freddy Krueger will fight to the death… Your death. From the cursed Camp Crystal Lake to the nightmarish 1428 Elm Street, awake or asleep, you’ll find yourself caught in the middle of this epic battle — where the winner’s reward is YOU.

INSIDIOUS

In a tandem announcement Universal Halloween Horror Nights will be delivering Insidious on both coasts.  However the experiences will be vastly different from one another. In Orlando guests will venture into “The Further” and travel through all three parts of the Insidious saga. Denizens of the afterlife try to find their way back into the world using the living to guide them.

THE PURGE

It’s Purge night everyone!  Who’s excited?  Get ready to run for your life as sanctioned vigilantes are out for blood and you are the hunted.

AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON

The classic maze from 2013 returns as a major fan favorite. When it first appeared, haunt fans were completely blown away by the remarkable sets, the stunning puppetry of the werewolves, and the brilliant transformation scene that played out before them, every night.  We will get to step into John Landis’ landmark 1981 horror classic again.  See you next Wednesday!

JACK PRESENTS: 25 YEARS OF MONSTERS AND MAYHEM

In what has become a beloved tradition Universal has put together  an anniversary house that collects scenes from some of the very best mazes over the years.  Visitors will relive the most terrifying moments of the past 25 years as Jack releases our catalogue of creatures in one maze. You’ll be attacked by Universal classic monsters, meat-grinding maniacs and the fiends of Horror Nights past. Sign us up right away!

RUN: BLOOD, SWEAT, AND FEARS

The upside: we could be ratings darlings.  The downside: We will have to die to do it.  Guests are selected as a contestants on RUN, a brutal TV show where everyday people are stalked by skilled assassins. Oh well.  Show business was never what it was cracked up to be was it?

ASYLUM IN WONDERLAND 3D

One of the houses that we are most excited for, Asylum in Wonderland takes us down the rabbit hole, through the looking glass and into a murderous 3D Wonderland. Is this world all in Alice’s mind or are the images we see real enough to kill us? Psychedelic, wild and surreal, we know this one will be awesome!

BODY COLLECTORS-RECOLLECTIONS

Another original, non-IP house, Body Collectors Recollections, has us excited. The Body Collectors have returned, descending upon Shadybrook Asylum to collect the human parts they require. Screams echo the hallways as a blizzard rages outside while sharpened blades swirl inside. The HHN team are exceptional at creating mood and atmosphere to enhance a story and deliver the scares.  This is right up our ally.

Scare Zones

Of course, it isn’t just about the houses.  No, The streets of Universal Studios Florida theme park come alive with hordes of horrifying mutants, monsters and maniacs. There will be 5 nightmarish scare zones where gory and grotesque creatures lurk around every turn.

“The Carey Drive-In movie theatre has been closed for decades after grisly murders during a double feature. It’s lights, camera, carnage as the theater nicknamed “Die-In” by the locals lives up to its name.”

Shows

While the Bill and Ted show got the axe a few years back in Hollywood, the tradition is alive and well in Orlando.  We get two shows this year and both promise to be a lot of fun.  Of course, we are bummed that we won’t get Rocky Horror again, but there’s always next time.

BILL & TED’S EXCELLENT HALLOWEEN ADVENTURE

Yes, the tradition continues in Orlando.  The two Wyld Stallions return for another broad, lampoon of pop culture and current events.  The things you can bet on are pulse-pounding music, hot bods, and over-the-top comedy.  Just don’t try to take a picture during the show.

THE CARNAGE RETURNS

“Jack the Clown is taking Halloween Horror Nights back in a blaze of murderous mayhem with his army of feared followers and his companion in carnage, Chance. Remember, Jack always has the last laugh.”

The event designers have also promised more “scareactors” than ever before, infesting five new scare zones including the escaped inmates in Psychoscareapy – Unleashed, and the return of fearsome past icons including The Caretaker, The Storyteller, The Director, and The Usher.

When Universal decides to marry it’s rich film horror history, with the now legendary event history of 25 years of Halloween Horror Nights, and then turns all of those iconic horrific characters loose, I cannot imagine how anyone could survive stay away from this years event.
