The evil forces had been mounting for some time.  Halloween fog crept into the southern California area early this year and unleashed upon a scare-hungry public what will forever be known as HorrorBuzz.  To mark the arrival of this new and exciting horror-niche destination on the net a team of creative masterminds descended upon the historic neighborhood of Old Town Orange.  They transformed an historic home into a nightmarish fever dream of of brooding colors, dazzling props, and monsters galore.  Of course, there was food, drink, and music too.  But that’s not important.  The scare’s the thing.

Site preparation began the day before at the location for the party.  Sets and props from Knott’s Berry Farm’s park decor department led by Jeff Shaddic were being placed in just the right spots. Blue Haze Entertainment, of Huntington Beach, California arrived as evening fell in order to play with lighting the property just right for the spooky shindig. Everything was finally in place and we were ready for our victims guests.

The big night came and guests began to arrive at 7pm.  Visitors were invited to enjoy the front yard gardens and light refreshments as the sun went down and fog filled the air.

8:15pm the party-goers were led to the backyard where a horde of monstrous delights awaited.  A massive, decadent spread of incredible food was prepared by The Pie Hole of Los Angeles California.  Savory cornbread Chicken Pot Pie and Mac and Cheese Pot Pie were served to the hungry crowds.  Copious refreshments were also enjoyed including the signature drink, the HorrorBuzz; a Mai Tai style drink with a splash of soda and grenadine.

Norman Gidney, owner of HorrorBuzz.com addressed the crowd and thanked everyone for coming.  He explained that the site would never have come to be if it were not for the experience of creating and helping build MiceChat.com with Todd Regan aka Dustysage.  Next the folks at Knott’s Berry Farm including Jason Soyster, Leidy Arévalo, Lara Hanneman, and Raffi Kaprelyan were mentioned as those that really helped to foster the passion for covering haunts.  That included JJ Wickam, David Wally, and the entire creative team at Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor. Of course, the help of Universal Studios Hollywood could not be forgotten either as an outlet that offered their support and creative encouragement.

It was now time to introduce the staff to the special guests and VIP in the garden.
